How these terms stay current

The current version and its date are always on this page, and an update never changes a lesson agreement you have accepted unless you agree to it.

Terms of service

1About these terms

These terms apply when you enquire about or take lessons with us, and when you apply to teach with us. Before any paid lesson you receive a lesson agreement with the details of your lessons. The terms and the lesson agreement are read together.

2Who we are

Eduremo is an online tutoring brand serving every learner in Egypt and Egyptian learners abroad. You can reach us through the routes below. Registration details of the business that provides the service are given on request.

  • Enquiry form

    Open the form

    The main way to reach us, in Arabic or English.

3The service

  • Eduremo arranges lessons that take place online only, on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, on the platform agreed with you.
  • We arrange no lessons in person, whether in a home or anywhere else.
  • Tutors teach from where they live, in Egypt or abroad.
  • Lessons cover the curricula and courses described on this website, from the Egyptian Baccalaureate and the Thanaweya Amma to languages for adults and the Quran.
  • Every learner starts with an enquiry, then receives a lesson agreement in Arabic before any payment.

4Enquiries and matching

Sending an enquiry places you under no obligation. We use it to suggest a tutor who fits the learner’s curriculum, stage, language and times. If a tutor does not suit you, let us know and we suggest another. Replacing a tutor is free of charge, whenever you ask.

5What you know before you commit

Before any paid lesson you receive the lesson agreement in Arabic, with an English copy on request. It sets out what Article 37 of the Consumer Protection Law requires:

  • who provides the service and how to reach them;
  • what the lessons include: subject, level, lesson length and number of lessons;
  • the full price in Egyptian pounds, and any amount added to it;
  • how long the offer stands;
  • how lesson times are set and changed;
  • the right of withdrawal, its period, and how refunds are made;
  • what the confirmation of the contract will contain.

Once you agree, you receive a written confirmation by email or another electronic medium you can keep, with the same details and nothing that differs from the offer. You may correct or amend your order within seven working days of accepting it (Article 38).

6Prices and payment

Prices are stated in Egyptian pounds, with every tax and charge included, as Article 7 of the Consumer Protection Law requires, and dealings inside Egypt are in Egyptian pounds (Article 212 of Law No. 194 of 2020). Nothing is added to the price at payment, and you receive a dated invoice for each payment (Article 10).

Payment is made under the lesson agreement, which sets out the ways to pay. If a payment would be collected in a currency other than the Egyptian pound, we tell you before you pay, because the bank that issued your card may add a fee.

7Your rights as a consumer

Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 gives you these rights, and we apply them in full:

Arabic
Every advertisement, statement, document, invoice and contract we issue to you is written in Arabic in a clear script, with other languages allowed alongside (Article 5).
A clear, all-in price
A price announced clearly in Egyptian pounds, including taxes and any charges (Article 7).
Information before you commit
Everything Article 37 requires before you commit to anything, as set out under “What you know before you commit”.
Withdrawal within 14 days
You may withdraw from the contract within fourteen days without giving a reason, and we refund unused lessons by the same payment method within seven days (Article 40). Lessons you attended before withdrawing are charged, and the right lapses if you have used the whole service before the period ends (Article 41).
A sound service
If a lesson falls short of what was agreed, we give it again or refund it (Article 25).
Confidential data
We keep your data confidential and share it only with your explicit consent or where the law requires (Article 29).
Dignity and respect
Respect for your personal dignity and for the customs and traditions of society (Article 2).

Nothing in these terms or in a lesson agreement limits these rights, and any clause that removes a duty from the supplier is void (Article 28). If you are not satisfied with our reply to a complaint, you may take it to the Consumer Protection Agency (Article 52).

Cancellations and refunds, with every number, are set out in our refund and cancellation policy.

8Results and targets

Tutors prepare every lesson with care, agree clear targets with you at the start and measure progress towards them lesson by lesson, with practice between lessons and steady attendance built into the plan. Eduremo makes no promise of particular marks, a total score, an exam result or admission to a school, faculty or university.

9Learners under 18 and safeguarding

For a learner under 18, a parent or legal guardian accepts the lesson agreement and remains responsible for the arrangement. For a learner under 15, the parent or guardian sends the enquiry and gives explicit written consent to the processing of the child’s data, as the privacy policy explains.

  • A parent may attend any lesson a child takes.
  • A child takes lessons in a shared space at home.
  • Tutors contact a child only through the lesson platform and the channels agreed with the parent.
  • A child’s lesson is recorded only when the parent and the tutor have both agreed beforehand.

10Conduct in lessons

Everyone in a lesson treats the others with respect. Lesson links are for the learner, and for the parent when the learner is a child. We may end an arrangement where a tutor, a learner or anyone present behaves in a way that puts others at risk or makes teaching impossible, and we explain why.

11Devices, platforms and connection

The learner provides a suitable device, a phone, laptop or tablet, and an internet connection. Video platforms have their own terms and privacy notices, which apply when you use them. We use WhatsApp for messages only, because its calls can be unreliable on some mobile networks in Egypt, and every lesson runs on one of the platforms named in these terms. You may ask for light mode on a small data bundle.

12Tutors

Tutors who teach with us are independent teaching partners. They work under a written tutor agreement in Arabic and set their own availability. These terms create no employment relationship between us and them.

The application starts with a question about current employment. Private lessons are restricted for school teaching staff under Ministerial Decree No. 592 of 1998, barred for university teaching staff under Article 103 of Universities Organisation Law No. 49 of 1972, and Article 56 of Civil Service Law No. 81 of 2016 restricts work for others during leave. We therefore review applications from these groups separately and never activate them automatically.

Each tutor makes their own tax declaration for their income, and we send each tutor a yearly statement of the payments made to them.

13Lesson materials and the names we use

Notes and materials a tutor shares are for the learner’s own study. Curriculum and exam names such as the Egyptian Baccalaureate, the Thanaweya Amma, IGCSE, the American Diploma, SAT, EST and IELTS describe what we teach and belong to their owners. Eduremo is independent of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, of the examination boards and of the schools and universities learners attend, and claims no official status.

14Personal data

How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

15Complaints

Complaints can be made in Arabic or English. The route is set out below in both languages.

English

Making a complaint

If something has gone wrong, we want to hear about it.

Send your complaint through the enquiry form and start your message with the word “Complaint”.

Write in Arabic or English. We confirm that we have received your complaint, tell you who is looking into it, and reply with what we will do.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to Egypt’s Consumer Protection Agency. Complaints about personal data go to the Personal Data Protection Center.

العربية

اكتب بالعربية أو بالإنجليزية. نؤكد لك استلام الشكوى، ونخبرك بمن يتابعها، ثم نرد عليك بما سنفعله.

16Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version and its date are always on this page. A change does not alter a lesson agreement you have already accepted unless you agree to it.

17Language

These terms are published in Arabic and English, and both versions carry the same meaning. Article 5 of the Consumer Protection Law requires the documents and contracts issued to a consumer to be in Arabic.

18Governing law and disputes

Learners in Egypt hold every right that Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 gives a consumer, together with the rights described in these terms. A learner takes a complaint under that law to the Consumer Protection Agency, and the Economic Courts hear disputes arising under it.
