1Who this policy is for
This policy applies to every learner who enquires about lessons for themselves, to a parent or guardian who enquires for a child, to everyone who applies to teach with us, and to anyone who visits this website. It explains how we handle personal data under the Personal Data Protection Law issued by Law No. 151 of 2020 and its executive regulations, and under Article 29 of Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018, which requires a supplier to keep consumer data confidential.
The executive regulations were issued by Decree No. 816 of 2025 of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and published in the Official Gazette on 1 November 2025.
2Who is responsible for your data
Eduremo decides why and how your personal data is processed, which makes Eduremo the controller of that data in the law’s terms. You can reach us through the routes below. Registration details of the business behind the brand are provided on request.
3What we collect
Through the enquiry form:
- your name, email address and mobile or WhatsApp number;
- whether the lessons are for you or for a child;
- the curriculum or course, the programme, and the grade or level;
- the language preferred for lessons, and the days and times that suit you;
- anything you choose to write in the message box;
- your consent, with its time and the version of the form you agreed to.
When the lessons are for a child, the enquiry asks only for the child’s grade or level and subject. We do not ask for the child’s name or contact details. When lessons begin, the parent adds the first name the child uses in lessons.
Through the tutor application form:
- your name, email address and mobile number;
- your current employment status, which is the first question on the form;
- the subjects, curricula and stages you teach, and your teaching language;
- your qualifications, teaching experience and availability;
- anything you choose to write about yourself.
When lessons go ahead: the lesson agreement, lesson dates and times, the tutor’s progress notes, invoices and payment records, and the messages needed to run the lessons. When a tutor starts teaching with us: the tutor agreement and the bank account details for the tutor’s payments.
When you use the website: the page you arrived on, the link or campaign that brought you (for example campaign tags in the page address), the language of the page, basic device and browser details, and your IP address, which we use to keep the site secure and to block spam.
We never ask for information about health, religion or opinions. The law treats this information, and all children’s data, as sensitive personal data, so please leave it out of the message box. If a learner has special educational needs that would help the tutor to know about, we agree with you how to share them, after your explicit consent.
4Why we use it
- to answer your enquiry and suggest a suitable tutor;
- to arrange, run and follow up lessons, including progress notes;
- to review tutor applications, including the applicant’s employment status;
- to prepare the lesson agreement, the tutor agreement and invoices, and keep the records the law requires;
- to deal with questions, complaints and requests about your data;
- to keep the website and our systems secure;
- to understand which pages help learners, using the website data described under “Cookies and website data”;
- to send news about our lessons, only if you have agreed to it separately.
We use your personal data for these purposes only.
5Consent
The law allows personal data to be collected or processed only with the explicit consent of the person it belongs to, or where the law permits (Article 2). So the enquiry form and the tutor application ask for your explicit consent before you send them, and we keep a record of when you gave it and which version of the form you saw.
Your consent to marketing messages is separate: an optional box that starts unticked, and our reply to your enquiry never depends on it.
You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal applies from that moment and does not affect processing that took place before it. After consent is withdrawn, we may be unable to arrange lessons.
6Children’s data
The law treats data relating to children as sensitive personal data in all cases (Article 1). Sensitive data may be processed only with a licence from the Personal Data Protection Center and explicit written consent, and for a child the consent of the legal guardian is required (Article 12).
So, for a learner under 15, only a parent or guardian may send the enquiry, and they give explicit written consent before we process any data about the child, as the executive regulations require. For a learner aged 15 to 18, the learner’s own consent or the guardian’s is enough under the regulations, and the lesson agreement is still accepted by a parent or guardian.
We collect the least a tutor needs about a child: the grade or level and the subject, then a first name when lessons begin. A child’s lessons never depend on sharing more than that, and we never use children’s data for profiling, tracking or advertising.
A parent or guardian may at any time ask to see the child’s data and receive a copy, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop processing it.
We do not ask children to send us personal data themselves. If we learn that a child under 15 has done so without a guardian’s consent, we delete it.
8Processing outside Egypt
Our website, database and email run on servers outside Egypt, and some tutors may teach from outside Egypt. Some of your personal data is therefore transferred to, stored in and accessed from other countries.
Article 14 of the law prohibits transferring or storing personal data in a foreign country unless its level of protection is at least that of the law, and subject to a licence or permit from the Personal Data Protection Center. Article 15 allows a transfer in listed cases with the explicit consent of the data subject, including to carry out a contract for their benefit. Transferred data receives the same protection described in this policy: access limited to those who need it, encrypted connections, and written obligations on our providers.
9Article 8: data protection officer and representative in Egypt
Article 8 of the law requires a data protection officer registered with the Center, and the executive regulations require a representative inside Egypt in the cases they set out. Every request about your data, including a request under Article 8, reaches us through the routes listed under “Who is responsible for your data”, and each appointment made under Article 8 is published in this section with its own contact route.
10How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as its purpose requires (Article 3). Enquiry details that do not lead to lessons are deleted once we no longer need them to answer you, and tutor applications that are not accepted are deleted once their review ends. Lesson records and invoices are kept while the agreement runs, and afterwards for as long as the law requires. Records of your consent to marketing are kept for three years from the last message, as Article 18 requires. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or made anonymous.
11How we protect it
We use encrypted connections for the website and both forms, give access to personal data only to the people who need it for their work, and check how our providers protect the data they process for us. Tutors receive only the data needed for their own lessons.
12Your rights
Article 2 of the law gives you these rights:
- Knowledge and access
- Know what personal data we hold about you or your child, and receive a copy.
- Withdrawal of consent
- Withdraw your earlier consent at any time.
- Correction and deletion
- Ask us to correct, amend, update or delete your data.
- Restriction
- Ask us to limit processing of your data to a defined scope.
- Notice of a breach
- Be told of any breach that affects your personal data.
- Objection
- Object to processing of your data, including any use for marketing.
- Complaint
- Complain to us, and to the Personal Data Protection Center.
To use any of these rights, contact us through the enquiry form or the routes listed under “Who is responsible for your data”. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that data reaches only the person it belongs to.
13If a data breach happens
If a breach affects personal data we hold, we tell the Personal Data Protection Center within 72 hours of learning of it, and we tell the people affected within three working days of notifying the Center (Article 7 and the executive regulations). We explain what happened, which data was involved and what we are doing about it.
14Marketing messages
We send news about our lessons by email, SMS or WhatsApp only with your separate prior consent (Article 17). Each message says it comes from Eduremo, says that it is marketing, and gives you a simple one-step way to stop further messages. We send no marketing messages to children.
16Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page with its date. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we tell you before it takes effect.
17Contact
For any question about this policy or your data, write to us in Arabic or English.
