Levels and tests

The levels and tests the courses are built on

Language ability is measured on the Common European Framework, from A1 to C2, and universities and visa offices ask for a set level or a score on a known test. We start by finding your level, then build the course towards the level or score you need.

IELTS
Two versions: Academic for study and General Training for work and travel, each testing listening, reading, writing and speaking.
Where IELTS is held
The British Council and IDP deliver it in Egypt; IDP lists 12 locations, including Cairo, Alexandria, Mansoura, Tanta and Minya.
German
In 2025 the German embassy in Cairo issued 3,172 study visas and 3,160 work visas.
Studying in Germany
8,704 Egyptian students were enrolled at German universities in the 2024/25 winter semester.
English for work
Focused skills: meetings, email, interviews and calls.
